Para além do filme com imagens de arquivo, a noção de arquivo na génese do acto de filmar. Reunindo autores que muito trabalharam com imagens pré-existentes, e não deixando de lado essa vertente da sua actividade, convidamos à análise de caminhos que alargam e transformam o binómio em causa (imagem e arquivo). A ideia de recolha, colecção, inventário, enquanto retorno a uma origem e, simultaneamente, impulso criador. O arquivo, ou seja, o espaço (re)fundador.
Em colaboração com o Doc's Kingdom, de 1 a 9 de Junho foram realizadas seis sessões na Cinemateca Portuguesa dedicadas ao tema "A imagem-arquivo", em antecipação à edição de 2010.
O primeiro número dos cadernos documenta (publicação mensal da Apordoc distribuída com o Le Monde diplomatique – edição portuguesa) foi dedicado ao Doc's Kingdom 2010.


On the 2010 edition: The arquive-image
Beyond the use of archival images, the notion of archive at the origin of the act of filming. Gathering filmmakers who have intensely worked with previously existent footage, and not forgetting that side of their activity, we propose the analysis of different paths which both enlarge and transform that binomial (image and archive). The idea of gathering, collection, inventory, as a return to an original state and, at the same time, as creative impulse. The archive, i.e., the (re)founding space.
In collaboration with Doc's Kingdom, from 1st to 9th June, there were six screenings at the Portuguese Cinemathèque on the theme "The archive image".
The first issue of the documenta (monthly publication by Apordoc, distributed as an insert with Le Monde Diplomatique - edição portuguesa) was dedicated to Doc's Kingdom 2010
